newbldg smNestled in the southeast corner of Miami County, Bethel Local School District is located 15 miles to the north of the City of Dayton and includes portions of Tipp City, Huber Heights and Bethel Township. Chartered in 1917, the district consists of one K-12 grade building with three different schools: elementary, middle school and high school. As Bethel Township changed and the district grew through the years, permanent academic spaces were added to the original building in 1951, 1956, 1964 and 1969 with a new gymnasium in 1999.

Conservative with its resources, the district continues to use its nearly 100 year old classrooms to accommodate the area’s growing population. Recently, the residents of Bethel Township showed their support of the district and voted in a 22 million dollar bond for school facility improvements, additions and renovations. Reflecting the community’s traditional values of respect for others, authority and learning, students of all ages experience quality academic curriculum, exceptional fine arts programs and numerous athletic opportunities.

Student-centered instruction, small class sizes and supportive learning environments foster a caring “family” environment where teachers are able to make personal connections with students and their families on a daily basis. The district’s graduates consistently rank among the top in the Miami Valley area with an average ACT composite score of 23.6; they experience academic course offerings of Honors, AP Classes and Electives that prepare them for the 21st Century global economy. Beginning in seventh grade, students are afforded the opportunity to participate in a variety of fine arts, student government and athletic opportunities. Our elementary also offers a variety of different programs ranging from gifted education, accelerated reading programs and musical choirs and bands. Bethel Local Schools proudly honors the traditions of it community and has an active multi-generational Alumni Association that inspires commitment to quality.

The district includes portions of Tipp City, Huber Heights, and Bethel Township, Ohio.

Bethel High School is accredited by the State of Ohio and the North Central Association.

In addition to having outstanding college preparatory and general courses of study, BHS is affiliated with the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, which offers 50 vocational programs and Tech Prep courses of study. The athletic teams compete in the Cross Country Conference.

Bethel Local School graduating students consistently rank among the top in the Miami Valley area in proficiency and achievement tests.

Sixty percent of BHS graduates in the Class of 2017 continued their education at colleges and universities.

Graduates earned $687,295 in scholarships and awards to public and private colleges and universities in Ohio and across the nation 2016-2017.

The district promotes and supports high achievement with: technology, a Gifted Program, and English as a Second Language Program (ESL is for bilingual and English language learners).

Bethel students take great pride in academic and extracurricular accomplishments. The strong support of the PTO (parent teacher organization), Athletic Boosters, surrounding business community, and local governments enhance the lives of our students.

There are many amenities within, and surrounding, this district that is rural by nature yet a very comfortable place to be a permanent resident.

Bethel Township, and the surrounding areas, offers: quick access to highways, Huber Heights, Tipp City, shopping and a nearby YMCA with summer day camps, child care, swimming, aquatics, and youth and adult sports programs.
