Mrs. Kaylor's 4th grade Social Studies classes enjoyed hands-on learning while exploring mound building cultures. Students started with building a landscape and were able to choose between building a burial mound or an effigy mound. They reflected on how the process of building the mound disrupted the landscape and animal life while also considering the effort, time, and planning it took to create these structures. Students will also explore how present day Ohioans impact the environment and what measures can be taken to protect the land in Ohio. Students were excited to share their creations!
