Congratulations to our Bee 3 winners of the week! We are off to a great start this year as students are being reminded of our Bee 3 expectations of Respect, Responsibility and Readiness!

Shoes 4 The Shoeless came to Bethel Local Schools this morning and served 50 of our students in grades K-12! Thank you to the volunteers from Sinclair and Cedarville Nursing School and other community volunteers that made this happen for our students. There was so much joy and so many smiles as the kids left the gym with their new gym shoes and socks! #BethelLegacy

Happy National IT Professionals Day! Thank you to our amazing Technology Department, who keep our campus's technology running smoothly. We are so lucky to have our Technology Director Jason Cook, Network & Systems Administrator Matt Reed, and our Technology Specialists Austin Womack and Matt Colbert. This year, Bethel Elementary is excited to introduce a brand-new award to replace Student of the Month! Instead of individual recognition, each class will work together to demonstrate the character traits they will be learning throughout the year. This promotes working together to build a better HIVE, and they will earn The 'HIVE' Award! #BethelLegacy

Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely, or treated like you are invisible. Isolated young people can become victims of bullying, violence, and depression. As a result, many pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development, or choose to hurt themselves or others.
This year, Bethel's 5th and 6th graders will be participating in Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello brings attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation and empowers young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school and community. Students will be participating in different activities throughout the week.
Monday: students will engage with their classmates in a Meet and Greet to create connections and engage with their peers.
Tuesday: students will learn about ways to take action to build an inclusive community.
Wednesday: students will take a photo with their Hive classes to show our unity and the importance of including others. Staff and students will be wearing green. GREEN OUT!
Thursday: students will spend time identifying trusted adults in the building.
Friday: students will play a game with classmates and ask get-to-know-you questions.
Start With Hello Week is September 15-19, 2025.
If you have any questions about Start with Hello Week, please reach out to Ms. Waller (wallerg@blsk.org) or Mrs. Samuels (samuelsb@blsk.org).
