Reminder: Tonight is the College Credit Plus Meeting, for students who are new to the program, in conjunction with Parent Teacher Conference Night! Parent Teacher Conferences are from 3:30pm-7pm and the CCP meeting is at 6pm in Bethel Hall. Safety Town registration is now open! Bethel Local Schools will be hosting Safety Town this year from June 2nd-6th. Safety Town is a program presented by the Miami County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers where incoming Kindergarten students learn different safety lessons daily. The BHS Creative Writing Team are JustWrite Ohio Regional Grand Champions!
The division 1 team of Scarlet Pfeiffer, Anna Williams, Natalie Sonnanstine, Ibtisam Eljawad, Savannah Manly, and Sam Avey won 2nd place.
The division 2 team of Cassie Dobmeyer, Sam Stoff, Evelyn Adams, Caleb Wrobel, Muskaan Sandhu, and Tiffany Moore also won 2nd place.
These two results put the entire team on the top of the podium and they were crowned the overall grand champions of the Xenia regional tournament on Saturday.
Eljawad and Moore both won 1st place Poet Laureate awards for their poems H_ngm_n and Holy Water, respectively.
Sonnanstine won 11th place overall in division 1 and Sandhu won 12th place overall in division 2.
Moore was awarded first place overall in division 2, meaning she took home the top awards in both the poetry and short story prose categories— an incredible feat!
Congrats to the entire team, who will all be moving on to the state tournament in May!
